Take Your BSL to the Next Level
If you’ve completed Level 1 or have a solid understanding of everyday BSL, our Level 2 Award is your next step forward. This course helps you grow from a confident beginner into a fluent signer, ready to hold detailed conversations and express yourself in real-time situations.
Delivered fully online by experienced tutors, Level 2 helps you build on what you already know – introducing more depth, natural flow, and expressive clarity to your signing.
Course Structure:
The full qualification is made up of three exciting units, each assessed separately by Signature (the awarding body). You’ll be supported throughout with practice sessions, group learning, and tutor-led feedback.
BSL201 – Receptive Skills in BSL
It’s time to tune in! Develop your ability to watch and fully understand signed communication – stories, real-life scenarios, and presentations. The exam is multiple choice, based on videos set by Signature.
BSL202 – Productive Skills in BSL
Show what you can do! You’ll prepare and deliver a signed presentation on a topic that interests you. It’s all about fluency, clarity, and confidence, assessed by an external Signature examiner.
BSL203 – Conversational Skills in BSL
Now for real conversation. You’ll take part in a 1-to-1 BSL conversation with an assessor, showing you can respond naturally, take turns, and share opinions in real time.
