Empowering learners. Connecting communities.
BSL Sign Unite was created by Louise and Tracey, two passionate advocates for British Sign Language. Together, we aim to make BSL learning more accessible through friendly, flexible online courses for Introductory, Level 1 and Level 2 learners – no matter where you’re based.
Meet the Team
Louise
I’m Louise – a BSL Level 6 tutor with over eight years’ experience, teaching from Beginners to Level 2 and Access to Level 3. I create engaging, supportive lessons that build real confidence and practical communication skills, whether you’re learning for work, family, or personal growth.
My journey with BSL began over 18 years ago. I’ve always had a passion for languages, and when I discovered BSL, I instantly felt a strong connection. Since then, I’ve progressed through all qualification levels and continue to develop my skills through regular CPD and active involvement in the Deaf community.
Alongside my BSL qualifications, I hold a Level 3 Award in Education and Training, which supports my ability to deliver structured, inclusive, and effective lessons. I also have a BTEC Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning, specialising in working with sensory-impaired children and young people. These qualifications enable me to support a diverse range of learners, including Deaf and hard of hearing students, as well as those who may need additional support with communication in educational settings.
I am deeply committed to championing the Deaf community, its language, and its culture. I don’t just teach BSL—I actively advocate for greater awareness, inclusion, and respect for Deaf identity and lived experiences. I believe that learning BSL is a powerful step towards breaking down barriers, creating meaningful connections, and building a more accessible and inclusive society for all.
Over the years, I’ve been proud to see many of my students go on to achieve recognised qualifications and use BSL confidently in both their personal and professional lives. Whether you’re learning BSL for work, family, or personal development, I’m here to guide and support you every step of the way.
Tracey
Hi, I’m Tracey — founder of BSL Sign Unite, a CODA (Child of Deaf Adult), and a passionate advocate for British Sign Language and Deaf culture.
I grew up watching my father struggle in a world that didn’t understand deafness. That experience shaped me — and now, I want to help others see just how beautiful BSL truly is, both as a language and a way of connecting within the Deaf community.
I met Louise in 2023, when she taught me Level 2 BSL, and it reignited that deep connection between the two worlds I’ve always lived in. Together, our shared passion for inclusivity and communication led us to create BSL Sign Unite.
Alongside this, I also work with vulnerable Deaf adults — something that continues to deepen my respect for accessible communication and cultural understanding every single day.
For me, this isn’t just about teaching sign language — it’s about building bridges, breaking down barriers, and creating a space where everyone feels welcome to learn, grow, and belong. Whether you’re starting from scratch or brushing up your skills, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
